I love Twitter, and despite the toxicity that often shows its ugly face, it’s a great platform. But, it is restrictive by nature. I’m a heavy tweeter and get dozens of weekly messages from people saying they enjoy my content, so I guess I’m doing something right!
My formula for my Twitter is the reason I think so many people resonate with my content and feel the need to reach out: I try to be myself. I’ve gotten criticized for some of the stuff I put out because it’s typically raw and unfiltered thoughts that make their way through my maze of a head.
I’ve always thought about starting a newsletter or blog of my own; as a matter of fact, I actually do have a website (samifathi.com) but have found it difficult to design in a way I’d want to direct people towards.
Starting your own newsletter or blog, where the only marketable thing is your thoughts and opinions based on your self-made persona, is a daunting idea, at least to me.
What will I write about? Who the hell will care and read about what I think? Will I give a rat’s ass to actually update it?
After much thought, I’ve started this Substack newsletter. Expect longer-form versions of my sometimes hot take, controversial, and outright weird tweets. If you like and enjoy the content I put out on Twitter, you’ll more than likely enjoy what I put out on here.
New publications will be sporadic, at least at first, and will cover anything and everything. If there’s a tweet for it, there will likely be something up on here related to it a few days later.
Till the next time, stay safe, and happy Craig day (every day is Craig day in this town)!
